Mission Statement
FEA Electrical Apprenticeship and Training provides students with a comprehensive education designed to ensure success in the electrical profession. Apprentices are registered with the U.S. Department of Labor and the Florida Department of Education.
Electricians are some of the highest paid people in the construction industry. There are many large companies who will not even hire an employee if they do not have journeyman’s license and have completed a 4 year indentured apprenticeship. Our graduates put themselves at the top of a contractor’s list when they complete this additional training.
Electrical contractors and many other companies need qualified electricians for inspectors, new construction, remodeling, repairs, motor control work, maintenance and lineman work… and the list goes on.
The basic principal of apprenticeship is very simple. The journeyman electrician teaches the apprentice all the on the job skills that they have learned over his or her years in the electrical field. At the same time, the apprentice is taught by another journeyman or master electrician; theory, code, business skills, motor controls and many other things to help round out their skills.
There are many older electricians retiring and leaving a need for new electricians. It is very important that we replace them with qualified and trained people which make the apprenticeship program such a worthwhile project.
